Private Plane Crash-Lands in Rourkela, Six Injured
Six people, including the pilot and co-pilot, were injured when a private plane made an emergency crash-landing in Rourkela after a technical snag.

Six people, including the pilot and co-pilot, were injured when a private nine-seater plane crash-landed in Rourkela on Saturday afternoon. Officials said the IndiaOne Airlines aircraft made an emergency landing in farmland near Katibandha Kansara at around 1.30 pm after it developed a technical problem.

Flight Details and Emergency

The IndiaOne Air Caravan 208, registered VT-KSS, had taken off from Bhubaneswar at 12:27 pm. It carried two pilots and four passengers. After flying only four to five kilometres, the plane experienced a technical snag. Consequently, the pilots acted quickly and executed a forced landing, saving all lives on board.

Mayday Call and Pilot Action

Shortly after the problem occurred, the flight crew declared a “Mayday” call. Following established safety procedures, they controlled the aircraft and landed it in an open area near Kansor, about 15–20 km from Rourkela, at 1.20 pm.

“The airline is coordinating with aviation regulators and the Odisha government to support passengers and crew and to manage further steps,” the company said.

Rescue and Safety Measures

Police and fire teams reached the site immediately. They rescued all six injured passengers and took them to a local hospital in Rourkela.

Meanwhile, authorities cordoned off the area as aviation fuel was leaking. Access remained restricted to prevent any accidents and ensure safety.
