Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein died in a New York jail cell. But reports that resurfaced years later suggest he had plans that went beyond his lifetime. He reportedly wanted to create “superior humans.” His New Mexico ranch was central to this idea.
A 2019 report said Epstein shared a shocking vision. He wanted to use his large property in Santa Fe to impregnate women with his sperm. He believed this could help him “seed the human race” with his DNA.
Four people who knew about his thinking said he spoke about this plan many times. However, there is no proof that he ever acted on it.
He spoke about it for years
Epstein began discussing the idea in the early 2000s. He told scientists and wealthy contacts that his ranch could become a place where women would be inseminated and give birth to his children. He repeated this idea on several occasions.
‘Baby ranch’ was known among close circles
Some accounts suggest the idea of a ‘baby ranch’ was not a secret among people close to him. An adviser said Epstein told him about the plan during a gathering at his Manhattan townhouse. The adviser later heard the same idea from a well-known business figure.
A scientist said Epstein mentioned it during a dinner in 2001 at the townhouse. Another scientist said Epstein spoke about it again at a conference he hosted in St Thomas in 2006. All three people found the idea strange and disturbing. At the same time, there was no sign that such a plan would have been illegal.
One unnamed scientist, said to work at NASA, claimed Epstein imagined having 20 women impregnated at the same time at his 33,000-square-foot Zorro Ranch in a remote area outside Santa Fe.
Interest in transhumanism shaped his thinking
Epstein showed a deep interest in transhumanism. This field explores how science and technology can improve human abilities. Critics often compare it to modern-day eugenics, a discredited idea that focused on improving the human race through selective breeding.
He also built connections with well-known scientists and intellectuals. One of them was George M Church, a molecular engineer known for his work on gene modification and the idea of creating “superior” humans.
