Iran Threatens Oil Supply Disruption, Warns Prices Could Hit $200 a Barrel
Iran warned it may escalate to sustained military strikes and block oil shipments to the US, Israel and their allies, cautioning that rising regional instability could push global oil prices up to $200 a barrel.

Iran has warned that it may intensify its military operations against its adversaries. Officials said the country may move beyond limited retaliatory strikes.

Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Tehran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said Iran plans to escalate its strategy. He said the country will no longer rely only on counterattacks.

The warning comes as tensions continue to rise between Iran, the United States and Israel.

Iran Threatens to Block Oil Supplies

Zolfaqari said Iran may stop oil shipments headed to its rivals and their allies. He warned that ships carrying such cargo could become targets.

“We will not allow even a single litre of oil to reach the US, Zionists (Israel) and their partners. Any vessel or tanker heading to them will be considered a legitimate target,” Zolfaqari said.

Iran Warns Oil Prices Could Surge

Iran also warned that the conflict could push oil prices much higher. Zolfaqari said instability in the Middle East directly affects global energy markets. He warned that prices could surge if tensions continue to grow.

“Prepare for oil prices to rise to $200 a barrel, because the price of oil depends on regional security — something you have destabilised,” he added.
