Australian authorities have launched an investigation after an alleged death threat targeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi surfaced on Facebook ahead of his official visit to the country.
The threat appeared in the comments section of a Facebook post promoting the "Melbourne Meets Modi" community event, which is scheduled to take place at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium on July 9. The development was first reported by The Australia Today.

The threatening comment was posted from a Facebook account using the name "Abu Mustafa" (ابو مصطفى). The comment read: “The roof tops of the stadium better close during the event or he will be coming to Australia for his death.”
According to The Australia Today, investigators have traced the IP address linked to the Facebook account as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police Treat the Matter Seriously
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has not confirmed whether anyone has been arrested. Officials also declined to provide further details because the investigation is still in progress.
However, Australian security agencies are treating the alleged threat with utmost seriousness. Multiple agencies are expected to work together to ensure Prime Minister Modi's safety throughout his three-day visit.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Australia for three days. During the visit, he will take part in bilateral meetings and community engagements.
