FC Goa scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw against Sporting Club Delhi in the
MG Indian Super League 2026-27 at the Fatorda Stadium on Wednesday. Juan Pena’s second-half goal put Delhi on course for their first victory of the campaign. However, Álex Vallejo struck in the 90+5th minute to deny the visitors all three points.
Both teams started aggressively and pressed high up the pitch to create early scoring opportunities. FC Goa looked dangerous in the opening minutes and came close to taking the lead in the eighth minute. Samsanga narrowly missed the target while attempting to connect with the ball at the far post.
Samsanga found the net in the 19th minute after Francisco Feuillassier sent him through on goal. However, the referee disallowed the effort for offside, allowing Sporting Club Delhi to escape an early setback.
The hosts continued to put pressure on Delhi’s defence as the first half progressed. Muhammed Nemil came close to breaking the deadlock in the 37th minute. After controlling the ball brilliantly, he created space in the attacking area but sent his shot narrowly over the crossbar.
Nora Fernandes Denies FC Goa After Half-Time
FC Goa maintained their attacking approach after the break and immediately looked for an opening goal. Nemil picked out Feuillassier inside the six-yard box, but Delhi goalkeeper Nora Fernandes made an important save to prevent the hosts from taking the lead.
Delhi made the most of that opportunity to turn the game in their favour. In the 52nd minute, the visitors launched a quick counterattack, with Rodrigunho setting up Juan Pena. Pena finished confidently with his right foot to give Sporting Club Delhi a 1-0 advantage.
The goal put Delhi in a strong position as they looked to secure their first win of the ISL campaign. FC Goa, meanwhile, increased their attacking pressure in search of an equaliser as the match entered its closing stages.
Álex Vallejo Rescues a Point for FC Goa
FC Goa pushed forward in the final minutes, hoping to avoid defeat on home soil. Delhi’s defence came under increasing pressure, and a defensive mistake gave Vallejo a chance to create danger in the first minute of stoppage time. However, his cross failed to produce a goal, as Chiki could not direct his attempt on target.
The hosts continued to fight for a breakthrough and finally found one in the fifth minute of added time. Feuillassier delivered a dangerous free-kick into the penalty area, where Vallejo timed his run perfectly. He reached the ball in front of the goalkeeper and guided it into the net to make it 1-1.
Vallejo’s late intervention sparked relief for FC Goa and left Sporting Club Delhi disappointed after they had come within moments of securing victory.
The result meant both teams shared the points following an intense contest at Fatorda. Delhi missed out on their first win of the campaign, while FC Goa fought back at the last moment to avoid defeat.
