FBI Labels Pittsburgh Office Car Ramming as ‘Act of Terror’
The FBI called a car ramming at its Pittsburgh office an “act of terror” after a suspect crashed into the gate and fled, leaving behind an American flag.

The FBI has labeled a shocking incident at its Pittsburgh office as an “act of terror” after a man deliberately rammed a car into the building’s gate early Wednesday morning.

The Incident

According to the FBI, the attack happened around 2:40 a.m. when a white sedan crashed into one of the vehicle entrance gates at the Pittsburgh field office.

In a statement, the agency confirmed that no one was injured during the incident. The suspect, later identified as Donald Henson of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, got out of the car after the crash. He then took an American flag from the backseat, threw it onto the damaged gate, and fled the scene on foot, the FBI said.

The New York Post reported that the vehicle was a white Toyota with profane messages scrawled on it, though the exact wording was not disclosed.

FBI Calls Attack Targeted and Deliberate

Christopher Giordano, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh office, said investigators believe the act was intentional. “We look at this as an act of terror against the FBI. This was a targeted attack on this building,” Giordano told CBS News. He confirmed that the suspect had committed a federal offense and vowed to pursue “prosecution to the fullest extent.”

Public Urged to Help Find Suspect

The FBI issued an appeal to the public for help in locating Donald Henson. They urged anyone who spots the suspect to call 911, contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.

Suspect Known to FBI

Giordano revealed that Henson had visited the FBI office just weeks earlier to make a complaint. Investigators reviewed his claims but determined that they did not involve a federal offense, so no action was taken.

“In scouring our indexes, we did find that he visited the field office a couple of weeks ago to make a complaint that didn’t make a whole lot of sense. We ran down everything that he came down with. It didn’t have a federal nexus. We contacted him to let him know there wasn’t a federal offense that we were able to charge,” Giordano explained.

Broader Context of Political Tension

The attack comes at a time when the United States is grappling with heightened political violence and extremist rhetoric. The country is still reeling from the recent assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, which has fueled tensions nationwide.
