Jennifer Aniston recently revealed why she never chose to adopt children. The 56-year-old actress said she always wanted a biological child. She added that adoption never felt like the right path for her. Speaking on a recent podcast, she shared that she feels at peace despite not having children.
“It’s so peaceful. But I will say there’s a point where it’s out of my control,” the Morning Show star said. “There’s literally nothing I can do about it. When people say, ‘But you can adopt,’ I don’t want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That’s the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I wanted it.”
Struggles with Conceiving
Aniston opened up about her struggles with conceiving. She described the process as difficult and exhausting. “I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” she said. “All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard.”
She tried multiple methods to conceive. “I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.’ You just don’t think it,” Aniston said. “So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”
Addressing Marriage Rumours
Aniston also addressed rumours about her marriage and children. She denied claims that her divorce was due to not having kids. “I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point,” she said.
