Bengaluru FC secured a 3-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC in the
Indian Super League 2024-25. The match was held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday. As a result, they ended their three-match winless streak at home. This win propelled Bengaluru FC to fourth place, with 31 points from 20 matches.
Gomes' Early Saves
In the opening 15 minutes, Jamshedpur's goalkeeper Albino Gomes made two crucial saves. First, he stopped Edgar Mendez's shot, and then, in the 12th minute, he saved Sunil Chhetri’s penalty. With these saves, Gomes became the ISL record-holder for the most penalty saves (7).
Close Calls for Bengaluru
Soon after, Bengaluru FC had more chances. In the 6th minute, Mendez received a long ball from Mohammed Salah and broke through the defense. However, Gomes managed to save his shot. Later, Chhetri was awarded a penalty after Suresh Singh Wangjam was fouled in the box. Nonetheless, Gomes anticipated the shot and dived to block it, keeping the score level.
Breakthrough Goal
The deadlock was broken in the 43rd minute. Chhetri quickly took a free kick after winning a foul on the left wing. He sent a perfect pass to Mendez, who then calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner. This goal gave Bengaluru FC a 1-0 lead.
Noguera’s Long-Range Goal
In the second half, Bengaluru extended their lead. In the 57th minute, Alberto Noguera delivered a free-kick after Naorem Roshan Singh was fouled on the right. Noguera’s ball found Rahul Bheke in the box, but the defender missed the header. Consequently, the ball went straight into the net, making it 2-0.
Noguera Seals the Win
Bengaluru FC wasn’t done yet. In the 82nd minute, Noguera took advantage of a mistake by Jamshedpur’s Lazar Cirkovic. After Cirkovic lost possession, Noguera sprinted forward and scored his second goal, sealing the victory with a 3-0 scoreline.

Alberto Noguera was the standout player of the match. He completed 43 out of 46 passes, made one tackle and one clearance, created four goal-scoring opportunities, and scored twice.
