Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission of helping the BJP rig the 2024 Haryana assembly elections. He claimed there were 25 lakh fake voters in the state.
At a press conference in New Delhi, Gandhi said, “I want Gen-Z to take this seriously, because your future is being taken away from you.” He called the documents he shared “The H Files.”
Rahul Gandhi said the data showed one in eight voters in Haryana was fake, about 12.5% of the total. He claimed the BJP’s victory margins in eight constituencies—around 22,000 votes each—proved that fake votes decided the outcome.
He displayed examples of alleged fake entries, including one photo used 223 times and another person who voted 22 times. He even mentioned that a Brazilian model’s photo was used to register multiple voters.
Gandhi said the BJP won 48 out of 90 seats, while the Congress got 37, falling eight seats short of a majority. He argued that this fraud helped the BJP secure a third consecutive term.
BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks
The BJP strongly rejected Gandhi’s claims. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju accused him of diverting attention from political failures.
“It clearly shows there is nothing left for him in Bihar, so to divert attention, he is now bringing up the issue of Haryana,” Rijiju said. “He has also made a presentation about irrelevant matters… He even mentioned the name of a foreign woman.”
Rijiju mocked Gandhi’s frequent foreign visits. “During elections, he goes abroad; during Parliament sessions, he secretly visits Cambodia and Thailand. Now, during the Bihar elections, he went to Colombia,” he said.
He added, “When he goes abroad, he brings back certain ideas, gives them to his team, and they create these baseless stories, wasting everyone’s time.” Rijiju advised Gandhi to “talk about serious issues” instead of spreading false claims.
Rijiju Accuses Rahul of Anti-India Agenda
Rijiju went further, accusing Gandhi of working with anti-India forces. “The games he is playing will never succeed,” he said. He also claimed Gandhi was trying to mislead Gen Z, but added, “The youth of this country are wise and stand by PM Narendra Modi.”
Rijiju mocked Gandhi’s remarks about explosions. “Rahul Gandhi says that the atom bomb is going to explode, but why doesn’t his atom bomb ever explode?” he said. “He doesn’t take any subject seriously.”
Congress-BJP Clash Heats Up
Gandhi made his claims just a day before the Bihar elections, accusing the ruling party of undermining democracy. The Congress said the issue was bigger than Haryana, warning that India’s democratic system was “under threat.”
The BJP, meanwhile, dismissed the allegations as fabricated. Rijiju said Gandhi’s team was “wasting everyone’s time” instead of discussing real national issues.
