Tejashwi Congratulates Nitish Kumar, Urges New Govt to Deliver on Promises
Nitish Kumar began his historic fifth straight term as Bihar CM, while Tejashwi Yadav congratulated him and urged the new government to meet people’s expectations.

Nitish Kumar took oath as Bihar’s chief minister for the fifth consecutive time. Soon after the ceremony, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav congratulated the NDA and expressed hope that the new administration would meet public expectations.

In a post on X, he said, “Hearty congratulations to Nitish Kumar on taking the oath as the chief minister of Bihar. Heartiest wishes to all the ministers of the Bihar government who were sworn in as members of the council of ministers.”

Tejashwi added that he expected the new government to fulfil its promises. “I hope that the new government will live up to the aspirations and expectations of responsible citizens, fulfil its promises and declarations, and bring positive and qualitative change to the lives of the people of Bihar,” he said.

A Historic Oath-Taking Ceremony

Nitish Kumar created history by taking oath for a fifth consecutive term and the tenth time overall. This makes him the longest-serving chief minister in Bihar.

BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also took oath as deputy chief ministers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior NDA leaders attended the ceremony. Along with them, 18 cabinet ministers were also sworn in.

RJD Reacts After Poll Setback

After its poor performance in the Bihar elections, the RJD posted an emotional message on X. The party said “ups and downs” are a natural part of politics and promised to continue standing with the poor.

The post read, “Public service is an unceasing process, an endless journey. Ups and downs are inevitable in it. No sorrow in defeat, no arrogance in victory. The Rashtriya Janata Dal is the party of the poor. It will continue to raise their voice among the poor.”

NDA Wins By a Huge Margin

The NDA swept the polls with 202 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the largest party, securing 89 seats. The Janata Dal (United) came next with 85 seats.

The RJD managed to win only 25 seats, while the Congress finished with six.
