US and Ukrainian officials on Sunday shared a new 28-point draft plan designed to push the Russia–Ukraine conflict toward a peaceful conclusion. They said the updated framework fully protects Ukraine’s sovereignty and reflects hours of focused discussions in Geneva on the US-led proposal.
Officials from both sides described the Geneva talks as constructive and respectful. They said the exchanges helped them narrow gaps, align their positions, and outline the next steps. According to both delegations, any final agreement must deliver a stable and just peace.
Shared commitment to end the war
After the consultations, Washington and Kyiv worked together to prepare a more refined peace outline. This draft signals a joint intention to stop the war and prevent further casualties.
Ukraine’s delegation thanked the United States and President Donald Trump for continued backing and for supporting efforts to secure a settlement. Officials also said they will keep working on joint proposals in the coming days while coordinating closely with European partners.
They made it clear that the final decision on the framework will rest with the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine. Both sides again stressed that the goal is a peace plan that ensures Ukraine’s security, long-term stability, and future reconstruction.
Trump Responds to Criticism from Kyiv
US President Donald Trump addressed recent criticism from Kyiv about his peace proposal. He argued that the conflict resulted from weak leadership in Washington and Kyiv.
He insisted the war “would have NEVER HAPPENED” under stronger leadership. Trump pointed out that the conflict began before his second term, during the Biden administration, and said it had only worsened since then.
