ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: West Indies Continue Winning Run With Strong Victory Over England
West Indies secured a 30-run win over England in a high-scoring clash, powered by Shimron Hetmyer’s unbeaten knock and a strong bowling performance.

West Indies outclassed England by 30 runs in the 15th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. England invited West Indies to bat first. West Indies scored 196/6 in 20 overs with the help of a blazing knock from Sherfane Rutherford and a fierce innings from Jason Holder. In reply, West Indies bowled England out for 166 with six balls to spare. West Indies now have two wins in two matches and sit at the top of the group.

West Indies recover after early blows

Jofra Archer and Sam Curran gave West Indies two early setbacks. They dismissed Shai Hope and Brandon King cheaply. Shimron Hetmyer and Roston Chase then brought stability. They added 47 runs for the third wicket.

Hetmyer played a brilliant knock of 76 runs off 41 balls. He remained unbeaten till the end. He built key partnerships with Roston Chase, Rovman Powell, and Jason Holder. Holder also played a fierce cameo of 33 runs off 17 balls. His late hitting helped West Indies reach 196 in 20 overs.

Adil Rashid (2/16 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler for England. Jamie Overton took two wickets. Jofra Archer and Sam Curran picked up one wicket each.

England lose momentum despite strong start

Phil Salt and Jos Buttler gave England a quick start in the chase. They added 38 runs for the first wicket in 3.2 overs. Buttler and Bethell added another 36 runs for the second wicket in the next three overs. After that, England lost rhythm and wickets started to fall quickly.

Gudakesh Motie (3/33 in 4 overs) broke the middle order. Roston Chase (2/29 in 4 overs) picked up key wickets at the right time. Sam Curran tried to fight back. He scored 43 runs off 30 balls. However, the disciplined bowling and sharp fielding of West Indies kept England under pressure.

West Indies bowled England out for 166 with six balls remaining. They secured a comfortable 30-run victory.
