Australia Women crushed India Women by 185 runs in the third ODI of the three-match series in Hobart. After being invited to bat first, Australia posted a massive total of 409/7 in 50 overs. Alyssa Healy played a blazing knock of 158 off 98 balls, while Beth Mooney scored a superb century. Georgia Voll also contributed a quick half-century. Sneh Rana (2/66 in 10 overs) was the most successful bowler for India.
While chasing, India lost Smriti Mandhana in the second over. Pratika Rawal and Jemimah Rodrigues added 54 runs for the second wicket. After Annabel Sutherland dismissed Pratika Rawal in the eighth over, India began to lose wickets at regular intervals. Sneh Rana tried her best, but her effort was not enough to overcome the huge total set by Australia Women.
In the end, India were bowled out for 224 in 46.1 overs and lost the match by a huge margin. With this win, Australia completed a clean sweep of the series 3-0.
Healy Signs Off ODI Career in Style
Alyssa Healy delivered a dream farewell to one-day international cricket. She hammered 158 off just 98 balls in her final ODI appearance. Her explosive knock powered Australia to 409 for 7 against India women's in Hobart.
Healy battled a calf problem during her innings. She joked that it was due to “getting old.” Despite the discomfort, she dominated India’s bowling attack. She struck 27 fours and two sixes in a stunning display.
Alyssa Healy became only the sixth woman in history, and just the second Australian, to score two 150-plus ODI innings. She also registered the second-fastest 150 in women’s ODIs, reaching the mark off 95 balls. Her score became the highest in a women’s ODI played in Australia and the highest ever against India. She joined Johmari Logtenberg as the only women to score a century in their final ODI.
Mooney Completes the Carnage
Beth Mooney supported Healy in a 145-run partnership. She then took charge in the closing overs. Mooney reached her sixth ODI century in the final over. She remained unbeaten on 106 from 84 balls.
Australia briefly slipped at the end. They lost 4 wickets for 37 runs in the last 10 overs. However, Nicola Carey smashed 34 not out off 15 balls. Her late surge pushed the total beyond 400.
Earlier, Georgia Voll made 62 from 52 balls. She added 104 runs with Healy. India’s bowlers struggled throughout. Shree Charani conceded over 100 runs, becoming only the third woman to do so in an ODI innings.
Healy Overcomes Early Scare
Healy began cautiously. Renuka Singh bowled a maiden over at the start. Healy survived a close lbw decision that went in her favour on umpire’s call. The moment sharpened her focus.
She reached her fifty off 49 balls. Later, she brought up her eighth ODI century in just 79 deliveries. She attacked Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma with powerful sweeps and lofted shots.
Healy raced from 100 to 150 in only 16 balls. A double century looked possible. But her calf cramped badly. She eventually fell attempting a reverse paddle sweep, bowled behind her back.
India’s Chase Falls Apart
India’s reply started brightly. Pratika Rawal and Jemimah Rodrigues scored quickly. They reached 62 inside eight overs after the early loss of Smriti Mandhana.
However, wickets fell regularly after that. Rodrigues scored 42 from 29 balls but departed at a crucial moment. Harleen Deol ran herself out after a mix-up. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur fell lbw.
Alana King tore through the middle order. She claimed 4 for 33, including three lbw dismissals. Sneh Rana top-scored with 44 from No.9, but India collapsed for 224. They fell 185 runs short.
The chase became so one-sided that Healy bowled the first two overs of her international career when India were 164 for 7.
With this win, Australia completed a 3-0 ODI sweep. India had eliminated Australia in last year’s World Cup semi-final, but Australia responded strongly in this series. Australia dominated in Hobart. Healy’s farewell innings ensured her ODI career ended on a historic high. Stay tuned with JUSZNEWS for regular updates!
