The blast took place around 1 am local time (0000 GMT), according to a statement issued by the Oslo Police District. Officials said investigators were still trying to determine what caused the explosion.

Police Investigating Cause of Blast

In its statement, the police said they currently have no information about what triggered the explosion or who might be responsible.

Authorities also confirmed that they were in contact with the United States Embassy in Oslo regarding the situation. A large number of police and emergency personnel were sent to the location soon after the incident.

Security Concerns Amid Global Tensions

The incident happened at a time when US diplomatic missions in several regions are under heightened security.

American embassies across parts of the Middle East have been placed on alert due to ongoing US military operations in Iran. In recent days, some diplomatic facilities have faced attacks as Tehran responds by targeting industrial and diplomatic locations.
