Bengaluru FC defeated Chennaiyin FC 1-0 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, securing a spot in the Indian Super League 2024-25 playoffs. This victory pushed Bengaluru FC to third place with 37 points. Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC, with 24 points from 22 matches, failed to qualify for the playoffs. Coach Gerard Zaragoza’s team controlled 57.1% of possession and attacked consistently. However, their only goal came in the first half through Rahul Bheke’s precise strike inside the box.

Chennaiyin FC had a final chance in the 83rd minute. Irfan Yadwad broke through Bengaluru FC’s defense and sent a strong cross to Daniel Chima Chukwu near the goal. However, Chukwu failed to control the ball, sending his shot off target. Ultimately, this missed chance ended Chennaiyin FC’s playoff hopes.
