Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a commanding 7-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the tenth match of IPL 2025 with 24 balls to spare. The match took place at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vizag. Mitchell Starc’s five-wicket haul (5/35), Kuldeep Yadav’s disciplined bowling (3/22), and a crucial 81-run stand between Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk played a pivotal role in DC’s triumph.
SRH Opt to Bat First but Struggle Early
Winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad chose to bat. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings, while Mitchell Starc led DC’s bowling attack. Head started aggressively, smashing consecutive boundaries. However, a casual run-out sent Abhishek Sharma back early, giving SRH their first setback. Ishan Kishan joined Head, and SRH reached 11/1 after the first over.
Mukesh Kumar bowled the second over and appealed for an LBW against Kishan, but the umpire turned it down. A review confirmed the decision. Meanwhile, Head continued to find boundaries, helping SRH reach 20/1 after two overs.
