Sanjiv Goenka and Rishabh Pant were seen at the famous Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) in Kolkata on Monday, April 7. They were there to watch the second-leg semifinal of the Indian Super League (ISL) between Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) and Jamshedpur FC (JFC).

Goenka, who owns Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL, also leads Mohun Bagan Super Giant, the football arm of the historic Mohun Bagan Athletic Club. Pant, currently in Kolkata with his LSG teammates, is preparing for the team's IPL clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

Pant Witnesses Thrilling Comeback Victory

Before his IPL match, Pant made time to visit VYBK and catch the high-stakes football game. Nearly 59,000 fans packed the stadium for the exciting encounter. Mohun Bagan, who had lost the first leg 1-2, made a strong comeback. With goals from Jason Cummings and Apuia, they won 2-0 and advanced to the final. Now, they will face Bengaluru FC in the title match on Saturday, April 12. Pant and Goenka sat together during the game. MBSG shared a photo of the two, which quickly went viral. Later, the ISL's official social media posted a video showing fans taking selfies with the LSG skipper.

Pant Eyes Redemption at Eden Gardens

Pant joined LSG after being bought for a record INR 27 crore at the IPL 2025 mega-auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The team also made him captain, replacing KL Rahul, who moved to Delhi Capitals. However, Pant's performance with the bat has not impressed yet. In his first four games for LSG, he has scored just 19 runs off 32 balls. Still, as a captain, he has done reasonably well. LSG has won two games and lost two in the first four matches. Pant hopes to bounce back in Tuesday's game against KKR. A win at Eden Gardens could boost his confidence.
