Flights to Prayagraj Skyrocket Due to High Demand for Mahakumbh 2025
Airfares to Prayagraj have surged significantly due to the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025, with prices rising up to 498% for some routes.
Airfares to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, have increased significantly because of the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025. As a result, ticket prices from several cities have risen sharply.

Ticket Price Increases

  • Flights between Delhi and Prayagraj have risen to ₹8,849, marking a 76% increase.
  • Meanwhile, travelers from Mumbai will now pay ₹15,148, which is up by 200%.
  • Flights from Bengaluru have seen the largest hike, with fares reaching ₹18,140 a 157% rise.
  • Similarly, ticket prices from Ahmedabad have climbed 62%, now costing ₹12,993.

Significant Rise in Fares

Among the cities, the most dramatic increase comes from Bhopal. The fare has skyrocketed by 498%, from ₹2,977 to ₹17,796, illustrating a steep surge. In addition, flights from Lucknow and Varanasi have become more expensive by 3% to 21%. These price hikes apply to one-way average tickets for travel between January 13 and February 26.

Air India Boosts Flight Services

To meet the growing demand, Air India will start daily flights between Delhi and Prayagraj from January 25 to February 28. This decision further emphasizes the increased travel needs during the Mahakumbh.

Surge in Flight Bookings

Furthermore, flight bookings to Prayagraj have risen by an impressive 162% compared to last year. Notably, Prayagraj is now connected to over 20 destinations, a considerable increase from just one flight route from Delhi during the previous Mahakumbh.
