Airports on High Alert: No Visitors, Extra Screening for Passengers
India imposed strict airport security checks and barred visitors as tensions rose after military strikes on Pakistan.

Following India’s strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) issued new instructions. The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that all airports and airlines must enhance security immediately.

Extra screening for all flyers

As a result, passengers will now undergo a Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC). This extra screening will take place just before boarding the aircraft. Consequently, authorities aim to detect threats at the final stage and ensure safer flights.

Visitor entry suspended at terminals

Moreover, authorities have suspended visitor entry into terminal buildings across India. This decision helps reduce crowding and minimizes the risk of internal security breaches.

Air Marshals to guard select flights

In addition, the government will deploy Air Marshals on certain flights. Officials will assign them based on threat assessments. These trained officers will boost onboard surveillance and act quickly in case of emergencies.

Move follows heightened alert

These measures come amid rising tensions after the Pahalgam terror attack. India responded with military strikes under Operation Sindoor. Therefore, civil aviation authorities are stepping up efforts to secure key infrastructure.
