Arunachal Pradesh Feels Two Earthquakes in 24 Hours
Two mild earthquakes shook Arunachal Pradesh within 24 hours, but no damage or injuries were reported.

An earthquake struck Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday morning. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), it measured 3.8 on the Richter scale.

Details of the Quake

The quake occurred at 5:06 AM IST. It originated 10 kilometers below the surface. Moreover, the epicenter was located at 29.03°N latitude and 95.78°E longitude.

NCS shared on X, “EQ of M: 3.8, On: 18/05/2025 05:06:33 IST, Lat: 29.03 N, Long: 95.78 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh."

Second Quake in Less Than 24 Hours

Interestingly, this tremor came just a day after another earthquake hit the region. On Saturday, a 3.4 magnitude quake occurred. It had a depth of 12 kilometers and its epicenter was at 28.78°N, 95.70°E.

Fortunately, authorities have not reported any damage or casualties from either quake.

Region Lies in High-Risk Zone

Notably, Arunachal Pradesh falls in a seismically active zone. As a result, it often experiences small to moderate earthquakes.
