Actor Kajol has spent 34 years in the film industry. Over the years, she has become used to fame, attention, and public judgment. But for her children, this is still new and challenging. While her 14-year-old son Yug stays away from the spotlight, her daughter Nysa, now 22, has often become the target of online trolling.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Kajol opened up about how she handles this situation and helps her daughter deal with cruel comments on social media.

Kajol Says She’s Still Protective

Kajol is currently promoting her upcoming film Maa, where she plays a mother fighting to save her daughter from evil. The role naturally connects to her real-life experience as a mom.

Reflecting on her parenting style, Kajol admitted she used to be very controlling, like the character she played in Helicopter Eela. But things have changed. “I used to be an Eela, but not anymore; I am much calmer and cooler. But yes, I am protective,” she said.

When asked how she deals with hate directed at her children, especially Nysa, Kajol responded with humour. She joked, “Well, I would say don't come in front of my car, otherwise I'll drive over you.”

Kajol Encourages Nysa to Focus on the Positive

However, Kajol quickly turned serious while talking about the online trolling her daughter faces. She said she constantly reminds Nysa that only a tiny section of people post negative comments online.

“I keep telling them, 'It's just 1% or 0.1% of people who are talking like that'. I don't even know if they are even real, to be honest. You don't know how much of it is real,” she explained.

She also revealed the advice she gives Nysa regularly. Kajol tells her daughter to focus on the love and ignore the hate. “You have to concentrate on the good. If you have a thousand comments, you will have 999 saying 'she is amazing', 'she is beautiful'. So much love they get, so many blessings they get. Concentrate on that and don't think too much about all these people. That's all you can do,” she said.

Nysa's Future and Kajol’s Upcoming Film

Nysa is the daughter of Kajol and actor Ajay Devgn. Born in 2003, she is currently studying abroad. In earlier interviews, both Kajol and Ajay have made it clear that Nysa is not interested in acting or entering the film industry.

Meanwhile, Kajol is all set to appear next in Maa, directed by Vishal Furia. The film also stars Ronit Roy and Indraneil Sengupta. It will release in cinemas on June 27.
