Russia issued a strong statement against the United States for bombing three nuclear sites in Iran on Sunday. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the strikes “irresponsible” and a “gross violation of international law.” It also warned that the attacks had already triggered a dangerous escalation that could further damage both regional and global security.

Trump Confirms the Attack

Just hours earlier, US President Donald Trump had confirmed that American forces struck major nuclear facilities in Iran. He warned Iran, saying it would face “more devastating attacks” if it refused to accept peace.

Medvedev Criticizes Trump

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev criticized Trump’s actions. He wrote on Telegram, "Trump, who came in as a peacemaker president, has started a new war for the U.S. With this kind of success, Trump won’t win the Nobel Peace Prize."

Russian Lawmaker Calls Strike Unjustified

Leonid Slutsky, leader of Russia’s Liberal Democratic Party and head of the State Duma's international affairs committee, said there was “no military reason” behind the US strikes. He argued that the move was illegal under international law.

He warned that the situation could get worse, adding, "The consequences of the escalation threaten to go beyond the region. Washington understands the inevitability of Tehran’s response. All this brings the spiral of confrontation to a new level and increases the risks of World War III."

Diplomacy Disrupted

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the US of ruining recent diplomatic efforts. Talks between Iran and the E3/EU (France, Germany, and the European Union) took place earlier this week, but Araghchi claimed that Washington derailed the discussions.

He wrote on X, "This week, we held talks with the E3/EU when the US decided to blow up that diplomacy."

Later, during a press meeting in Istanbul, Araghchi declared that both the US and Israel had “crossed a very big red line.” He stressed that Iran would defend itself “by all means necessary.”

Israel Applauds US Airstrikes

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump’s decision. He called the US airstrikes historic and said, "Trump’s decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history."

Iran Strikes Back

In response to the US bombings, Iran’s military launched attacks on multiple targets in Israel. Among them was Ben Gurion Airport, the country’s main international hub near Tel Aviv.
