Four-Storey Building Collapses in Delhi’s Seelampur, Rescue Operation Underway
A four-storey building collapsed in Delhi’s Seelampur on July 12, sparking a major rescue operation as several people were feared trapped under the debris.

A four-storey building collapsed early Saturday morning in Seelampur, Delhi. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Welcome Police Station. Authorities suspect that several people are still trapped under the debris.

Rescue Teams Respond Swiftly

After receiving an emergency call around 7 am, rescue teams quickly reached the site. Officials deployed at least seven fire engines to help with the rescue effort. So far, they have pulled out three to four people and sent them to the hospital.

A police officer told PTI, “We have received a call regarding a building collapse at 7 am. Multiple teams are working, including seven fire tenders. Further information is awaited.”

At present, there are no confirmed deaths. Officials are still assessing the full extent of the damage caused.

Locals Acted First

Anees Ahmad Ansari, who lives in the building right opposite, shared that he was also injured when debris from the collapsed structure hit his building. “As the building collapsed, the rubble hit our building and I also got injured. Everyone, including locals, is busy trying to rescue the family. We hope that they are safe,” he said to PTI.

According to witnesses, many locals were out for their morning walks when the building came down. They were the first to respond and started rescue efforts before the fire brigade arrived.

Second Collapse in Two Days

This is the second building collapse in Delhi in just one day. In the early hours of Friday, another building came crashing down near Azad Market in North Delhi. That incident claimed one life and damaged a parked truck.
