In the 60th minute, Vignesh Dakshinamurthy limped off, and Landinliana Renthlei replaced him. Both teams then made changes, with Mohun Bagan bringing on Liston Colaco and Manvir Singh. Despite their efforts, their final passes lacked precision. Chennaiyin FC also had a late opportunity in the 89th minute when Ryan Edwards headed a cross from Shields wide of the goal.

Connor Shields was the standout player for Chennaiyin FC. He created four chances, delivered nine crosses, and made a tackle.
