Chasing a Milestone
Hsieh, who has won nine Grand Slam doubles titles, is now aiming for her 10th. She will compete for the prestigious title at Melbourne Park, where the Australian Open offers a prize pool of A$96.5 million (US$61 million). In the other semi-final, Townsend and Siniakova defeated Russia’s Diana Shnaider and Mirra Andreeva 6-7 (4/7), 6-4, 6-3.
Confidence After Success
Hsieh, the defending women’s doubles champion, is ready for the final. Last year, she won both the women’s doubles with Belgian Elise Mertens and the mixed doubles with Polish partner Jan Zielinski at the Australian Open.
