An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 struck Siwan, Bihar, at 8:02 AM on Monday morning. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. The NCS quickly shared the details on social media: “EQ of M: 4.0, On: 17/02/2025 08:02:08 IST, Lat: 25.93 N, Long: 84.42 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Siwan, Bihar.”

Earlier, Another Earthquake Struck Delhi-NCR

Just hours before, at 5:36 AM, an earthquake of the same magnitude hit Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR). This tremor occurred at a shallower depth of 5 kilometers. As a result, the strong shakes caused many people to rush out of their homes in panic.

Prime Minister Modi’s Safety Advice

Following the earthquake in Delhi and NCR, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to remain calm and follow safety measures. He also advised everyone to stay alert for any possible aftershocks.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Tremors were felt in Delhi and nearby areas. Urging everyone to stay calm and follow safety precautions, staying alert for possible aftershocks. Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation.”
