Government Fulfills 35-Year-Old Demand
For more than 35 years, the Mizo people had demanded the relocation of the Assam Rifles Headquarters from central Aizawl to Zokhawsang. Finally, this demand has been met.
While speaking at the event, Shah called the move a major step in Mizoram’s development. Furthermore, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for resolving the long-pending issue. "This demand, which has been around for 30-35 years, is now set to be fulfilled due to an important decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is not just an administrative decision but a symbol of the Indian government's responsibility towards the Mizo people," he said.
Modi Government’s Push for Northeast Growth
In addition to fulfilling this demand, Shah highlighted how the Modi government has transformed the Northeast. Over the last decade, the region has seen significant improvements in tourism, technology, agriculture, and entrepreneurship. According to Shah, these initiatives not only promote development but also strengthen unity.
