Virender Sehwag reacted strongly on Saturday after Pakistan broke the ceasefire agreement. The deal had come just hours earlier through U.S.-led talks aimed at easing military tension.
He posted on X, earlier known as Twitter. Sehwag shared a picture with a Hindi phrase: "Kutte ki dum tedi ki tedi hi rehti ha." This idiom means that some habits never change, no matter how much effort one makes.

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal and Rahul Tewatia also expressed anger. They posted the same picture on their Instagram stories.
Additionally, Shikhar Dhawan reacted sharply. He said, “Ghatiya desh ne fir apna ghatiyapan poori duniya ke aage dikha diya.” His words showed his disappointment with Pakistan’s actions.

Ceasefire Raised Hopes
Earlier, both countries had agreed to stop fighting. The deal gave hope after tensions rose following a terror attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, last month. That attack killed 26 tourists and shocked the nation.
However, the peace didn’t last long. Within hours of the agreement, people in Jammu and Srinagar heard explosions. Soon after, both cities faced sudden blackouts. Although there were no reports of injuries, the situation created fear and concern.
India Blames Pakistan
Later that night, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held a press briefing. He blamed Pakistan for not following the agreement.
"There had been repeated violations of the understanding arrived between the two countries," Misri said.
Furthermore, he urged Pakistan to act seriously. "We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility," he added.
According to Misri, Indian forces had responded. He said the army was "retaliating" against a "border intrusion."
Pakistan Denies Charges
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry denied breaking the agreement. It said Pakistan remained committed to the ceasefire.
"We believe that any issues in the smooth implementation of the ceasefire should be addressed through communication at appropriate levels," the ministry stated.
