Iran Fires Missiles at Israel After US Bombs Nuclear Sites
Iran fired dozens of missiles at Israel, injuring at least 11, just hours after the US bombed three of Iran’s nuclear sites.

At least 11 people were injured after Iran launched dozens of missiles at Israel on Sunday. This attack came just hours after the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear sites.

Multiple Cities Hit Across Israel

Sirens rang out and loud explosions were heard across central and northern Israel. Iranian missiles hit Tel Aviv, Haifa, Nes Ziona, and the Rishon Lezion area. Iran also targeted Ben Gurion International Airport.

According to AFP, Iran fired around 30 missiles toward Israel. The Israeli military confirmed the launches and said it was actively intercepting the threat.

During a live broadcast, Iran’s state television declared, "These live images you are seeing are of a new salvo of Iranian missiles fired on the occupied territories."

Injuries Reported, Haifa Shows Damage

Magen David Adom, Israel's rescue service, told AFP that “Eleven people were taken to hospital, including one in moderate condition – a 30-year-old man wounded in the upper body by shrapnel.”

Meanwhile, viral videos on social media showed damaged buildings and destruction in Haifa, although the exact source of the visuals remains unverified.

US Strikes Trigger Iranian Retaliation

The situation escalated after US President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that the US had attacked Iran’s nuclear sites – Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

Trump’s military used GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs, commonly known as bunker-busters, to hit the Fordow nuclear fuel enrichment site. These bombs are so heavy and powerful that only the B-2 stealth bomber can carry them – and only the US owns these aircraft.

In addition, the US Navy fired around 30 Tomahawk missiles from submarines during the strikes.

No Radiation Detected at Iranian Sites

After the attacks, concerns grew over possible radiation leaks. However, Iran later stated that there were “no signs of radioactive contamination at the three locations and no danger to nearby residents.”

Trump Seeks More Time, But Pressure Builds

Before the missile exchange, the White House said Trump was still deciding whether to deploy US troops in the region. He had asked for more time to evaluate the situation.

Still, the US took a strong position against Iran. It urged Iran to back down and warned of consequences if it escalated further.

Israel Struck First in Ongoing Conflict

This new chapter in the conflict began when Israel launched strikes on Iran over a week ago. Those strikes reportedly targeted nuclear and military sites, as well as top Iranian generals and scientists.

Israel aimed to destroy Iran’s air defense systems and missile infrastructure. The goal was to reduce Iran’s ability to launch counterattacks.

Dispute Over Iran’s Nuclear Intentions

The US and Israel claim that Iran is building towards a nuclear weapon. On the other hand, Iran insists that its nuclear program is peaceful and meant only for civilian purposes.

As tensions grow, the region faces the risk of a much larger war involving major powers.
