Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney, known for her bold style and recent box office success, may soon make her Bollywood debut. The Euphoria actress has been in the spotlight for various reasons lately, including her headline-making fashion choices and hit films. Now, reports suggest she has received a record-breaking offer to join the Hindi film industry.
Huge Offer from Bollywood Production House
According to The Sun, a top Bollywood production company has approached Sweeney, 28, with an offer worth over Rs 530 crore. This includes £35 million (around Rs 415 crore) as direct payment and £10 million (around Rs 115 crore) through sponsorship deals.
Industry insiders believe her international appeal could make the untitled project a global success. “Sydney’s star power could help the film reach a wider audience in the international market,” the report stated.
Role and Storyline
The film will reportedly feature Sweeney as an American star who falls in love with an Indian celebrity. The story is expected to unfold across multiple global locations, including Paris, New York City, London, and Dubai.
Shooting is scheduled to begin early next year, but there has been no official confirmation from either Sweeney or the production team.
A source close to the matter revealed that Sweeney was “shocked” by the staggering offer. “But the project is intriguing, and it could elevate her global profile even further… Nothing has been decided yet, but it is a huge opportunity and Sydney is weighing her options carefully,” the insider told The Sun.
Sweeney’s Upcoming Hollywood Projects
Sweeney rose to fame with the hit 2019 Prime Video series Euphoria. She also earned praise for her role in HBO’s The White Lotus.
She will next appear in the psychological mystery-thriller The Housemaid, alongside Amanda Seyfried. Directed by Paul Feig, the film also features Brandon Sklenar and Michele Morrone in pivotal roles.
Additionally, Sweeney is set to play legendary US pro-fighter Christy Martin in the upcoming biographical sports drama Christy, directed by David Michod. The film, also starring Ben Foster and Merritt Wever, is scheduled to release on November 7.
