Seven people die after avalanche hits Zoji La; rescue teams act quickly to save those trapped.

A massive avalanche struck the Srinagar-Leh highway at Zoji La in Ladakh on Friday. As a result, at least seven people died and several others were injured.

Officials said heavy snow buried multiple vehicles on the road.

Vehicles Buried Under Snow

According to authorities, nearly 15 vehicles were either fully or partially covered by snow. The avalanche hit the Captain Turn area at Zoji La Pass in the Drass region during the afternoon.

Consequently, many passengers got trapped inside their vehicles.
