PM Modi Meets Chief Ministers to Review Preparedness Amid West Asia Crisis
PM Modi holds key meeting with chief ministers to review preparedness amid West Asia conflict.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a meeting with chief ministers of various states through video conferencing. The discussion focuses on reviewing their preparedness and response plans amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

However, chief ministers from states that are going to polls are not part of this meeting.

Focus on Coordination Across States

According to sources, the main aim of the meeting is to improve coordination between the Centre and states. The government wants all states to work together in the spirit of “Team India”.

Officials expect the discussion to cover preparedness, resource management, and response strategies during the global crisis.

First Meeting on West Asia Conflict

This is the first time the Prime Minister has called such a meeting specifically on the West Asia war. The conflict began on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran.

Since then, Iran has responded with strikes targeting Israel and parts of the Gulf region.

Poll-Bound States Not Included

Chief ministers of states heading for elections have not joined the meeting. This is because of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which restricts official government activities during election periods.

Background: PM’s Earlier Warning

Earlier this week, PM Modi spoke in Parliament about the impact of the global situation. He said that the challenges arising from the West Asia conflict could continue for some time.

He also urged people to stay united and prepared. He referred to how the country stood together during the COVID-19 pandemic as an example of collective strength.

The government has not yet shared full details of the meeting. More information is expected to be released soon.
