Bumrah Calls Mukesh ‘McGrath’ After Match-Winning Spell
Mukesh Kumar impresses with a strong spell as Delhi Capitals defeat Mumbai Indians, earning praise from Jasprit Bumrah.

Mukesh Kumar delivered an outstanding performance for Delhi Capitals and played a key role in their six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians. After the match, Jasprit Bumrah praised him in a light-hearted way by calling him “McGrath,” leaving players like Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel laughing.

“Well done, Mukesh McGrath," Bumrah said, appreciating his effort.

Early Breakthroughs Put MI Under Pressure

Mukesh made an instant impact with the ball. He dismissed the in-form Ryan Rickelton with a well-placed delivery that resulted in a catch at mid-off. Just two balls later, he struck again. He took a sharp return catch to send Tilak Varma back for a duck. This left Mumbai Indians in trouble early in the innings.

Bumrah especially admired Mukesh’s quick reflexes during this dismissal.

Brilliant Fielding Effort

Mukesh also impressed in the field. He took a stunning catch near the boundary to dismiss Sherfane Rutherford.

Bumrah praised this effort, saying, “Mukesh picked up a great caught & bowled, and that one too, near the boundary line."

During the 12th over, Rutherford tried a slog-sweep against Vipraj Nigam. Positioned at deep square leg, Mukesh moved quickly, timed his jump well, and caught the ball in mid-air.

Rizvi Leads the Chase

Sameer Rizvi played a match-winning knock. He scored a brilliant 90 off 51 balls and guided Delhi Capitals to victory.

Chasing 163, DC had a shaky start. Rizvi then built a 66-run partnership with Pathum Nissanka, who scored 44.

Later, Rizvi added another 78 runs with David Miller (17*). This partnership helped DC complete the chase with 11 balls remaining.

MI Post Competitive Total

Earlier, Mumbai Indians scored 162/6. Stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav led the batting with 51 runs, while Rohit Sharma contributed 35.

However, Delhi bowlers kept tight control throughout the innings. Mukesh Kumar led the attack with figures of 2/26, and Axar Patel also impressed with his disciplined bowling.

Complete Team Performance

Delhi Capitals delivered a strong all-round performance. Mukesh Kumar’s early breakthroughs and fielding brilliance, combined with Rizvi’s aggressive batting, ensured a comfortable win over Mumbai Indians.
