Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s recently elevated Supreme Leader, is reportedly facing a serious health crisis and is currently receiving treatment in Qom. According to a report by The Times, he is said to be unconscious and suffering from a “severe” medical condition.
Intelligence Report Raises Concerns
The report, published on Tuesday, is based on an intelligence assessment. It refers to a diplomatic memo that includes inputs from the United States and Israel. This memo was also shared with several Gulf countries.
According to the document, Khamenei is in no condition to carry out his duties. The report suggests that his health has significantly affected his ability to govern.
Unable to Participate in Decision-Making
The memo highlights that Mojtaba Khamenei is currently incapacitated and cannot take part in any official decision-making. This raises questions about leadership and governance in Iran during this period.
“The memo reveals for the first time that Mojtaba Khamenei is being treated in Qom in a severe condition, unable to be involved in any decision-making by the regime,” the newspaper reported, adding that it had reviewed the document.
