Drone Spotted Over Oslo Airport Hours After Copenhagen Incidents
Hours after drones appeared over Copenhagen, Norway reported a drone over Oslo Gardermoen Airport, temporarily disrupting flights.

Norway reported a drone at Oslo Gardermoen Airport on Monday, shortly after similar sightings in Denmark. As a result, flight operations were affected.

Operations manager Gisle Sveen from the Eastern Police District told NRK, “We have taken measures to try to locate this drone, but we have not yet been able to locate the drone pilot.”

Consequently, police increased their presence at the airport to investigate and maintain safety.

Safety Measures Taken

Avinor, which manages all Norwegian airports, immediately notified police. Press officer Karoline Pedersen told NRK, “For safety reasons, it was decided to move all air traffic to one runway.” She added that air traffic is “flowing smoothly and as normal.”

Related Incidents in the Region

Meanwhile, the Oslo sighting occurred shortly after 2–3 drones were spotted over Copenhagen. Therefore, Danish authorities closed Kastrup Airport until 9 AM Tuesday. At least 100 flights were diverted or cancelled.

Earlier, Norwegian media reported that police arrested two foreign nationals for flying drones in a restricted military zone in central Oslo.

Regional Security Concerns

Authorities have not confirmed the origin of the drones. However, these incidents follow recent Russian drone and jet incursions over Poland, Estonia, and Romania.

Overall, Denmark and Norway are investigating the sightings carefully to protect air travel and prevent further disruptions.
