Twisha Sharma Death Mystery Deepens Amid Harassment Allegations
Fresh developments in actor-model Twisha Sharma’s death case have intensified the probe, with dowry harassment allegations, a viral audio clip, police custody of her husband, and the matter now reaching the Supreme Court.

Fresh developments have surfaced in the investigation into the death of actor-model Twisha Sharma, whose mysterious death just months after her marriage has raised serious questions.

Twisha, a resident of Noida, married Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025. She died on May 12, and police are still trying to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her death.

Family Levels Harassment Allegations

Twisha Sharma’s family has accused her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment, as well as mental and physical abuse. However, her in-laws have rejected all allegations.

Among those named in the case is retired district judge Giribala Singh, who is Samarth Singh’s mother. The family has denied any wrongdoing.

Planned Ajmer Visit Before Death

Investigators recently revealed that Twisha had planned to travel to Ajmer on May 15 to meet her brother, Major Harshit Sharma, who is posted there. The trip was scheduled just three days after she was found dead.

“She was scheduled to travel to Ajmer on May 15, where her brother, Major Harshit Sharma, is posted. We are examining why she took such an extreme step despite having travel plans," an official said.

Police are now examining whether her future plans indicate something significant in the investigation.

Viral Audio Clip Sparks Debate

The case drew further public attention after an alleged audio conversation between Major Harshit Sharma and Giribala Singh surfaced online and went viral.

Twisha’s family claimed the audio clearly showed her mother-in-law questioning her character. Her cousin Meenakshi Sharma strongly criticised Giribala Singh over the conversation.

“In the audio, she can be clearly heard questioning Twisha's character...It shows her depraved mentality...Even now, she is speaking ill of her daughter-in-law,” Twisha's cousin Meenakshi Sharma was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Husband Sent to Police Custody

Twisha Sharma’s husband Samarth Singh is currently in police custody after reportedly remaining absconding for around 10 days.

He surrendered before the police on Friday. Authorities presented him before Judicial Magistrate First Class Anudita Gupta on Saturday. The court later sent him to seven days of police custody for questioning.

Police Issue Notices to Mother-in-Law

Meanwhile, Bhopal Police said on Saturday that they had issued three notices to Giribala Singh in connection with the case.

However, the retired judge denied receiving any notices. She also said she was willing to cooperate with investigators if police contacted her officially.

Supreme Court to Hear Matter

In a major development, the case has now reached the Supreme Court. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 25.

The matter has been registered as “In Re: Alleged institutional bias and procedural discrepancies in the unnatural death of a young girl at her matrimonial home”.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, along with Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi, will hear the case.
