LSG edged out MI by 12 runs in a high-scoring thriller, powered by Marsh's blitz and Pandya's five-wicket haul.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs in the 16th match of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Mitchell Marsh gave LSG a fiery start, and Aiden Markram, along with Ayush Badoni, helped LSG to cross the 200-run mark. Despite Hardik Pandya's five-wicket haul and a late push by Naman Dhir, Suryakumar Yadav, and Pandya himself, Mumbai fell short.

Marsh dominated early overs

Both teams performed well. Mitchell Marsh gave LSG a blazing start and single-handedly powered them past 50 runs in the powerplay. However, Rishabh Pant failed once again; he must work on improving his batting. Later, Aiden Markram, Ayush Badoni, and David Miller stepped up and played their roles effectively. Despite facing Hardik Pandya’s sharp bowling, they pushed the total to 203 in 20 overs. On the other hand, Naman Dhir and Suryakumar Yadav kept Mumbai’s hopes alive with a strong partnership. Tilak Varma had to retire hurt, but hopefully, he will recover before the next match. Hardik Pandya missed the big shots in the final over, and thanks to Avesh Khan's brilliant bowling, LSG won the match. Stay tuned with JUSZNEWS for regular updates!
