‘Fordow Is Gone’: Trump Announces U.S. Airstrikes on Iran
The U.S. joined Israel in striking Iran’s nuclear sites, with Trump confirming direct attacks on Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan as tensions escalate.

The United States has now entered the Iran-Israel conflict through direct military action. On Saturday, President Donald Trump confirmed that the U.S. carried out airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites — Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

Trump Announces the Strikes on Truth Social

Trump posted the news on his social media platform, Truth Social. He said the military had launched a “very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.” Trump also stated that “all planes are now outside of Iran air space” and confirmed that “a full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow.” He added, “All planes are safely on their way home.”

Trump Suggests Fordow Was Destroyed

Soon after his first post, Trump shared another message. This one came from a news and intelligence portal and said, “Fordow is gone.” The statement suggested that the underground site suffered major destruction.

U.S. Joins Israeli Operation After Weeks of Speculation

Earlier, on June 13, Israel launched its own strikes against Iran’s nuclear program. Israeli officials claimed Iran was close to making a nuclear weapon. Following those attacks, many speculated whether the U.S. would join. Trump’s confirmation on Saturday ended the uncertainty.

B-2 Bombers Used in the Attack

Trump confirmed that B-2 stealth bombers took part in the operation. However, he did not say what kind of weapons were used. According to Fox News, the U.S. dropped six bunker buster bombs on Fordow and fired 30 Tomahawk missiles at other nuclear sites.

Trump to Address the Nation

Trump is expected to speak to the American people at 10 p.m. EDT. He is likely to explain the reasons for the airstrikes and what steps may follow.

Iran Warned the U.S. Ahead of the Strikes

Before the U.S. action, Iranian leaders had issued strong warnings. On Wednesday, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that any U.S. attack would “result in irreparable damage.” Also, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei warned that “any American intervention would be a recipe for an all-out war in the region.”

No Plans for Ground Troops, Says Trump

On Friday, Trump told reporters he had no interest in sending ground forces into Iran. Earlier, he had said he would make a final decision within two weeks. But the situation developed rapidly, leading to the strikes.

Iran Confirms Fordow Was Hit

Iran’s state news agency IRNA confirmed that the Fordow site had been hit. The agency quoted a provincial official but gave no further details. At the same time, Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported that an Israeli official said the strike was carried out “in full coordination” with the United States.
