The deadly wildfires currently ravaging Los Angeles have destroyed numerous homes, including those of many celebrities. Six separate fires are burning across the city, and more than 1,000 structures have been lost. As a result, many high-profile residents have been forced to evacuate.

Pacific Palisades Hit Hard

Among the hardest-hit areas is Pacific Palisades. The fire spread quickly, growing from several hundred acres to over 15,000 since Tuesday. Consequently, many homes in this picturesque neighborhood, known for its hillside mansions and stunning ocean views, have been reduced to rubble.

James Woods and Billy Crystal Share Their Heartbreak

Actor James Woods expressed his sorrow over losing his Pacific Palisades home. He emotionally shared, “One day you’re swimming in the pool, and the next day it’s all gone.” He also revealed that his wife’s young niece offered her piggybank to help rebuild their home. In a similar vein, actor Billy Crystal, along with his wife Janice, spoke about the emotional toll of losing their home of over 40 years. Crystal said, “Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.” He added, “We are heartbroken of course, but with the love of our children and friends, we will get through this.”

Other Celebrities Affected

In addition, Paris Hilton confirmed that her Malibu home was destroyed by the fire. She shared on Instagram, “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.” Moreover, Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry also lost their Pacific Palisades home. Sperry posted a picture of the fires and urged others to leave out bowls of water for displaced animals.

Mark Hamill and Eugene Levy Evacuate

Furthermore, Mark Hamill and Eugene Levy had to evacuate their homes. Hamill called the fire “the most horrific” he had seen since the 1993 fires. Levy described the thick, dark smoke in Temescal Canyon, noting, “I couldn’t see any flames but the smoke was very dark.”

Community and School Affected

In addition to the personal losses, the Palisades Charter High School, famous for its appearance in Carrie, was destroyed. Many notable figures, including JJ Abrams and Will.i.am, are former students.

Events Canceled, Oscar Nominations Postponed

As a result of the wildfires, several events have been canceled, including film premieres and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In addition, the Academy postponed the Oscar nominations event.
