IPL 2026: Hinge, Sakib Star as Sunrisers Hyderabad Crush Rajasthan Royals by 57 Runs
Sunrisers Hyderabad rode on Ishan Kishan’s 91 and a stunning debut spell from Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain to thrash Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs after posting 216/6.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) outclassed Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 57 runs in the 21st match of IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH posted a strong total of 216/6 in 20 overs after being put in to bat first. After losing Abhishek Sharma early, Ishan Kishan took charge and added 54 runs for the second wicket with Travis Head.

After Head’s dismissal, Kishan stitched a 92-run partnership for the third wicket with Heinrich Klaasen before getting out in the 14th over. Kishan scored a blazing 91 runs off just 44 balls. Cameos from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora helped SRH cross the 200-run mark. For Rajathan Royals, Jofra Archer (2/37 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler, while Sandeep Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, and Riyan Parag picked up one wicket each.

In reply, Praful Hinge (4/34 in 4 overs) and Sakib Hussain (4/24 in 4 overs) dismantled RR’s top order within the first 18 balls. Hinge took three wickets in his debut over. After three overs, RR were reeling at 9/5. Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira then added 118 runs for the sixth wicket to bring some respectability to the total. However, their effort was not enough, as RR were bowled out for 159 with one over remaining.

A superb bowling performance by SRH’s debutants handed Rajasthan Royals a heavy defeat. With this win, SRH broke Rajasthan Royals winning streak.

Early Blow for SRH, Then Kishan Takes Over

RR had a dream start with the ball. Jofra Archer removed Abhishek Sharma on the very first ball. But Kishan soon counter-attacked. He hit Archer for two boundaries in his next over.

Travis Head had some luck early on but eventually got out after adding 55 runs with Kishan.

Kishan’s Explosive Knock

Kishan dominated the innings with aggressive stroke play. He reached his fifty in 30 balls with a powerful slog sweep off Bishnoi. He also shared a quick 50-run stand with Heinrich Klaasen in just 26 balls.

Kishan attacked bowlers like Tushar Deshpande with ease. Even when Klaasen fell for 40, Kishan kept the momentum going. He smashed boundaries all around the ground. However, he fell for 91 while trying to accelerate further.

Late Cameos Push SRH Past 200

After Kishan’s dismissal, useful contributions from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora helped SRH reach 216.

In the end, it was a complete team effort. But the night clearly belonged to two debutants. Hinge and Sakib delivered a performance that fans will remember for years.

Hinge’s Magical First Over

Hinge’s debut had a dramatic build-up. He was supposed to play in the previous match against Punjab Kings. However, the team management replaced him with Jaydev Unadkat at the last moment. In this game, he made sure the wait was worth it.

He dismissed Sooryavanshi with a sharp short delivery. The batter top-edged a pull to wicketkeeper Salil Arora. On the next ball, the in-form Dhruv Jurel chopped onto his stumps. To complete a dream over, Hinge got Lhuan-dre Pretorius to flick straight to long leg.

Even established stars like Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Hazlewood have not achieved this feat in the IPL.

Sakib Adds to RR’s Misery

At the other end, Sakib joined the destruction. He dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal, who ramped a short ball straight to deep third. RR’s score read a shocking 2 for 4.

Soon, it became 9 for 5 when Hinge removed Riyan Parag at slip. Sakib continued to dominate with clever slower deliveries. He finished with 4 for 24, including back-to-back wickets of Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi.

Ferreira and Jadeja Fight Back Briefly

After the early collapse, RR tried to recover. The sixth-wicket pair of Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja added a 50-run partnership in just 35 balls.

They changed the tempo and scored 50 runs in the next four overs. However, the required rate remained very high. RR still needed 97 runs from the last six overs.

The pressure proved too much. Ferreira and Jadeja fell in consecutive overs, ending RR’s hopes.

Ferreira’s Fighting Fifty

Before his dismissal, Ferreira impressed with his aggressive batting. He handled the spinners well and attacked both Shivang Kumar and Harsh Dubey.

He reached his maiden IPL half-century in just 31 balls. However, once he got out, RR’s innings quickly fell apart.

Player of the Match: Praful Hinge

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Ishan Kishan led the charge with a brilliant 91. On most days, his innings would have been the main highlight. However, Praful Hinge’s extraordinary debut overshadowed everything. Hinge’s first big moment came when he dismissed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for a golden duck.

Vidarbha pacer Hinge made an unforgettable entry into the IPL. The 24-year-old picked up three wickets in his very first over—a rare feat that has never been achieved in the tournament’s 18-year history. His stunning spell helped SRH defeat table-toppers Rajasthan Royals at their home ground.

Hinge was not alone in making an impact. Another debutant, Sakib Hussain from Bihar, also impressed at the other end. Together, the two young bowlers dismantled RR’s batting lineup early. Rajasthan collapsed to 5 for 4 and then 9 for 5 in no time, and the match was almost decided at that stage. Both debutants finished with combined figures of 8 wickets for 58 runs.

With this win, SRH ended their two-match losing streak in style. Stay tuned with JUSZNEWS for regular updates!
