India outclassed Zimbabwe by 35 runs in the third and final T20I of the three match series in Harare. After deciding to bat first, India posted another imposing total of 192/5 in 20 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe managed 157/7 in their 20 overs, falling 35 runs short of the target. Ryan Burl played a superb unbeaten knock of 54 runs off 43 balls, but his effort was not enough to take his team over the line. Mayank Yadav (3/29 in 4 overs) was the standout bowler for India, while Yash Thakur also claimed two wickets.
With this victory, India swept the series 3-0. The win also ensured that India retained the No. 1 position in the ICC T20I rankings after briefly slipping following their series defeat to England.
Sooryavanshi Anchors India's Innings with Brilliant 81
After being asked to bat first on the same slow pitch used for the second T20I, India suffered an early setback when Abhishek Sharma departed cheaply once again. However, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan steadied the innings with a superb 75-run partnership for the second wicket, adding the runs in just 50 balls.
Although the surface did not allow easy stroke-making, Sooryavanshi adjusted his game brilliantly. Instead of attacking from the outset, he built his innings patiently before accelerating at the right time.
The youngster scored 81 runs from 49 deliveries, smashing eight boundaries and four sixes. His innings came to an end only after Brad Evans produced a stunning running catch from long-off.
Sooryavanshi Shows Maturity on Difficult Pitch
Unlike his previous explosive knocks, Sooryavanshi played a more measured innings. He reached his half-century in 31 balls, making it the second-slowest fifty of his brief T20 career.
Despite facing awkward bounce from Blessing Muzarabani, he found boundaries with well-timed pulls, drives and cuts. He also cleared the ropes with a massive 103-metre six off Sikandar Raza before moving into the eighties. His ability to adapt to the conditions highlighted his growing maturity as a batter.
Middle Order Pushes India Close to 200
Ishan Kishan played a supporting role with 29 runs off 26 balls before Sikandar Raza dismissed him. Shreyas Iyer initially struggled on the slow surface but later found his rhythm, scoring 27 off 18 balls with a couple of important boundaries.
Rinku Singh then provided a quick finish by blasting 25 runs from only 14 deliveries, including two fours and a six. India eventually posted a competitive total of 192 for 5, although Zimbabwe's bowlers managed to slow the scoring in the closing overs by using effective slower deliveries.
Zimbabwe Never Managed to Build a Serious Chase
Zimbabwe's pursuit suffered an immediate setback when Mayank Yadav dismissed Brian Bennett with the very first ball of the innings for the second time in the series.
The express pacer clocked around 147 kph and produced an outswinger that found Bennett's outside edge, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi completing a sharp catch at first slip.
Mayank's pace consistently troubled Zimbabwe's top order, while Yash Thakur struck twice in two deliveries during the powerplay to leave the hosts under severe pressure.
Mayank Yadav and Yash Thakur Lead India's Bowling Attack
Mayank once again displayed his raw pace and accuracy, finishing with excellent figures of 3 for 29. Yash Thakur also made valuable contributions by claiming two wickets despite some expensive overs, ending with figures of 2 for 45. The pair ensured Zimbabwe never gained momentum during the chase.
Ryan Burl's Fifty Goes in Vain
Ryan Burl fought a lone battle for Zimbabwe with an unbeaten 54, reaching his fifth T20I half-century in 42 balls. Wessly Madhevere supported him with 28 runs as the pair added 60 runs for the fifth wicket.
However, by the time they came together, the required run rate had already climbed beyond ten runs an over and continued rising. Even though both batters received reprieves after dropped catches, Zimbabwe never seriously challenged India's target and finished on 157 for 7.

India wrapped up a dominant 3-0 T20I series victory over Zimbabwe with a comfortable 35-run win in the third and final match in Harare. Young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his outstanding form with another half-century, while pacers Mayank Yadav and Yash Thakur delivered impressive spells to seal the victory.
