Trump to Receive Israel’s Top Civilian Award for Gaza Peace Efforts
Israel will honor Donald Trump with its top civilian award for helping free hostages and promoting peace in Gaza.

US President Donald Trump will receive Israel’s Presidential Medal of Honour during his upcoming visit. Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced the award on Sunday. He praised Trump for helping secure the release of hostages from Gaza and for supporting peace in the Middle East.

“Through his tireless efforts, President Trump has not only helped bring our loved ones home but has also laid the foundations for a new era in the Middle East built on security, cooperation, and genuine hope for a peaceful future,” Herzog’s office said.

Herzog added, “It will be a great honour for me to present him with the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honour.”

Recognition of Global Contribution

The Presidential Medal of Honour is Israel’s highest civilian recognition. It is given to people who make extraordinary contributions to the nation or to humanity. Former US President Barack Obama received the same honor in 2013 for strengthening Israel’s security and diplomatic ties.

Trump’s award highlights strong US-Israel relations and his role in the Gaza ceasefire efforts.

Trump’s Visit Linked to Gaza Peace Plan

Trump will arrive in Israel on Monday as part of his mission to implement the US-proposed Gaza peace plan. He will be formally notified of the award today, though the presentation will take place later.

During his four-hour visit, Trump will address Israel’s Parliament, the Knesset, and meet the families of hostages. His 20-point Gaza plan, accepted by Israel and Hamas, seeks to end the two-year war that has killed more than 67,000 people.

The plan calls for Israeli troop withdrawal, hostage exchanges, and the creation of a self-governing system in Gaza. It also aims to build lasting peace and regional stability.
