Saudi Arabia and UAE Slam Iran’s Missile Attack on Qatar
Saudi Arabia and the UAE strongly condemned Iran’s missile strike on a US base in Qatar, calling it a violation of sovereignty and pledging full support to Doha.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) strongly criticized Iran’s missile attack on the US-run Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday. They called the strike “unjustifiable” and a “flagrant violation” of Qatar’s airspace and sovereignty.

Both nations promised full backing to Qatar. Saudi Arabia said it would provide "all its capabilities" to support its Gulf neighbor.

Saudi Arabia Condemns Iran’s Action

In a firm statement, Saudi Arabia denounced Iran’s missile strike. “The Kingdom condemns and denounces in the strongest terms the aggression launched by Iran against the sisterly State of Qatar… This is unacceptable and unjustifiable under any circumstances,” the statement said.

Saudi Arabia also reaffirmed its support for Qatar. “The Kingdom affirms its solidarity and full support for… Qatar and offers all its capabilities to support the sisterly State of Qatar in any measures it takes.”

This show of unity came despite past tensions between the two Gulf nations.

UAE Echoes Strong Condemnation

The UAE also issued a sharp response. It condemned the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s missile strike in the “strongest terms.”

Abu Dhabi’s foreign ministry stated, “The UAE condemns in the strongest terms the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s targeting of Al Udeid Air Base in the sisterly State of Qatar, considering it a flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace.” This statement was published by the official WAM news agency.

Qatar Confirms No Casualties, Reserves Right to Respond

Earlier, Qatar confirmed that the attack caused no injuries. Its Defence Ministry said the missiles were intercepted successfully.

Qatar also strongly condemned the strike. Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said, “We express the State of Qatar’s strong condemnation of the attack on Al Udeid Air Base by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, and consider it a flagrant violation of the State of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as of international law.”

The country declared that it reserves the right to respond to the attack.

Iran Coordinated Attack to Avoid Casualties

According to Reuters, Iran coordinated the strike in advance. A regional source said Iran informed both the US and Qatari authorities before launching the attack. The New York Times, which first reported this, said Iran aimed to avoid loss of life.

Despite the warning, Iran still described the missile strike as “devastating and powerful.” Explosions were heard in parts of Doha on Monday.

Strike Was a Response to US Bombing

Iran’s military said the attack on Al Udeid was retaliation. Over the weekend, US bombers dropped massive 30,000-pound bunker-busters on Iran’s underground nuclear sites.

This airstrike was part of a joint campaign with Israel, which has also been targeting Iranian facilities.

After the US strikes, Iran warned it would respond. In return, Washington had warned Tehran not to retaliate, or it would face strong military consequences.

US Confirms No Injuries at Base

US officials later confirmed that no American troops were hurt in the missile strike. Al Udeid is the largest American military base in West Asia and plays a key role in regional operations.

The attack has added to growing tensions in the Gulf, with Iran, the US, and its regional allies locked in a dangerous confrontation.
