Rubio Credits Trump for India-Pakistan Ceasefire and More Peace Deals, Calls Him ‘President of Peace’
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised Donald Trump as the “president of peace,” crediting him for helping secure ceasefires in India-Pakistan and other conflicts despite ongoing wars.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised Donald Trump as the “president of peace.” He claimed that Trump played a key role in stopping the conflict between India and Pakistan in May. Rubio said, “When India and Pakistan went to war, we got involved directly, and the president was able to deliver on that peace.”

India-Pakistan Ceasefire After Four Days of Fighting

The conflict began on May 7, when India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. India targeted terrorist camps and Pakistani military sites for four days. On May 10, Pakistan asked for a ceasefire, which India accepted.

Trump claims he helped secure the ceasefire. However, India says it agreed only after Pakistan’s request following heavy Indian strikes.

Trump’s Broader Peace Claims

Trump and his supporters have promoted him as a global peacemaker and pushed for a Nobel Peace Prize. Rubio highlighted other conflicts where Trump claimed success in his second term. He said, “Cambodia and Thailand more recently; Azerbaijan and Armenia, hopefully – we’re taping this here today, but on Friday of this week, we’ll be here to sign an agreement and the beginning of a peace deal there. DRC-Rwanda – a 30-year war, 7 million people killed – we were able to bring them here to sign it. Obviously, work needs to – peace is not permanent. It always has to be worked and maintained.”

Trump planned to host Armenia and Azerbaijan’s leaders to witness a peace deal signing at the White House.

Peace Claims Contrast with Ongoing Conflicts

Despite the peace claims, Trump has not ended the war in Ukraine, which he said he would stop within 24 hours of taking office. He also failed to end the war in Gaza. Instead, in June, the US attacked Iranian nuclear sites under Trump’s orders, escalating tensions and pushing the US into a new conflict with Iran.
